Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

Introduction

This Modem Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is a response to Section 54(1), Part 6 of the Modem Slavery Act 2015 and relates to actions and activities for the financial year ending 31 December 2024

The Rhythm Section Ltd ('the Company', 'we', 'us' or 'our') is committed to preventing slavery and human trafficking violations in its own operations, its supply chain, and its products. We have zero-tolerance towards slavery and require our supply chain to comply with our values. 

Organisational Structure

The Rhythm Section Ltd and has business operations in the United Kingdom.

We operate in the Event management and production agency. Services span event production, creative design, PR activation, content creation and complete promotional services. Experience spans tourism and cultural showcases, corporate conferencing, product launches, campaign management and specialised engagement programmes sector. 

Our supply chain uses companies who work in the same field and we regularly use the same suppliers who we have been working with for years. Irrespective of size, all of our suppliers are expected to adhere to the same principals and ethics that we ourselves hold.

Policies

We operate a number of internal policies to ensure that we are conducting business in an ethical and transparent manner. These include the following:

  • Supplier code of conduct
    The Rhythm Section is committed to ensuring that its suppliers adhere to the highest standards of ethics. Suppliers are required to demonstrate that they provide safe working conditions where necessary, treat workers with dignity and respect, and act ethically and within the law in their use of labour. The organisation works with suppliers to ensure that they meet the standards of the code and improve their worker's working conditions. However, serious violations of the organisation's supplier code of conduct will lead to the termination of the business relationship. Should any supplier be found to use modem slavery in any part of its business or procurement then they will be reported internally to our designated colleague and their contract terminated immediately.
     
  • Whistleblowing policy
    The Rhythm Section Ltd encourages all its workers, customers and other business partners to report any concerns related to the direct activities, or the supply chains of, the company. This includes any circumstances that may give rise to an enhanced risk of slavery or human trafficking. The company's whistleblowing procedure is designed to make it easy for workers to make disclosures, without fear of The Rhythm Section's code makes clear to employees the actions and behaviour expected of them when representing the organisation The organisation strives to maintain the highest standards of employee conduct and ethical behaviour when operating abroad and managing its supply chain
     
  • Agency workers policy
    The Rhythm Section uses only specified, reputable employment agencies to source labour and always verifies the practices of any new agency it is using before accepting workers from that agency. The company will never look for the cheapest labour but instead looks to employ the best labour when using employment agencies which have been operating reputedly for many years and come highly recommended and are reviewed every year.

Due Diligence

As part of our efforts to monitor and reduce the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring in our supply chains, we have adopted the following due diligence procedures:

  • Internal supplier audits.
  • External supplier audits.

Our due diligence procedures aim to:

  • Identify and action potential risks in our business and supply chains
  • Monitor potential risks in our business and supply chains
  • Reduce the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring in our business and supply chains
  • Provide protection for whistle blowers

Risk and Compliance

The Rhythm Section has evaluated the nature and extent of its exposure to the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring in its UK supply chain through

  • Evaluating the slavery and human trafficking risks of each new supplier
  • Reviewing on a regular basis all aspects of the supply chain based on supply chain mapping

The Rhythm Section operates in a low risk level environment because the majority of our supply chain is based in the UK and in low-risk industries, such as event services. We do not tolerate slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains. Where there is evidence of failure to comply with our policies and procedures by any of our suppliers, we will require that supplier to remedy the non-compliance.
